Women in Design & Technology Ends With a Bang!
By Jennifer Markas
Last Thursday, Damsels in Design completed its three-part Women in Design & Technology Conversation Series at General Assembly. After a successful run with over 250 women in attendance altogether, Damsels closed its series with the final interview, “Innovating Mobile Technology,” featuring Kelly Hoey, Co-Founder of Women Innovate Mobile.
Kelly revealed what investors look for in start-up companies and entrepreneurs, how to approach potential mentors, and the importance of networking. She discussed which mobile apps she is in the process of accelerating and why their ideas and teams won the Women Innovate Mobile competition back in February out of 130 applicants. We appreciated her insight, advice and uplifting spirit for all aspiring women entrepreneurs in design and technology fields.
Her top pieces of advice for women: “Build your network. Build your bank account.”
